So the book I'm participating in is moving right along, I've seen a few (mostly) finished pages and they all look spectacular. Mavlock has had his work cut out for him, but he's making it work. If it weren't for those damn artists and their prima donna ways! It helps that he has mattdocmartin to ride everyone's asses to make sure they meet the deadlines.
So I get to help with the table at MegaCon where we will be selling this wonderful piece of artistic beauty. If there are any of you who will be in the area, or anywhere remotely close to it, please stop by and take a look. It's really an impressive thing, and it was amazing watching it come together, and I only got bits and pieces of the action.

So Thanksgiving started off with a bang, and I mean a shot in the head kind of bang. We found out Wednesday night that someone had gotten a hold of Kesh's debit card number and had proceeded to wipe out our entire bank account (and then some) purchasing, of all things, Rosetta Stone language lessons...That's an unusual thing to buy with stolen money. We spent over an hour on the phone with the bank, and managed to get all our overdraft fees returned, but that was all at that point. Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) was even worse. We had been given some anti-anxiety meds for our over-anxious pooch as we were having the family gathering at our place. Well, the dosage the vet recommended was WAY too much, and it caused a strong reaction in poor Buddy. He started shaking, couldn't stand on his own, and his eyes started swelling. We rushed him to the emergency vet, who said that he would be fine when they wore off, to let him sleep and give him some eye ointment they gave us. I SO did not want to spend the holiday scared to death that we had killed our dog. By that afternoon the effects were wearing off, he was walking better, and begging for food, so we knew he was going to be okay. This morning when we woke up, his eyes were almost completely back to normal, and he was behaving like his normal, hyper-active self.
Kesh also managed to get in touch with Rosetta Stone and our bank, and we are getting all of our money back. They also gave the bank the information of the person who used our account, so hopefully someone is going to jail. It was over $500, so it's considered Grand Theft.
All in all, what started out as a lousy holiday, turned out okay in the end, but it was not a fun few days.

Livejournal is a pain in the ass.
I've been told that I need to cross-post my blogs both here and @ Blogger, since SOMEONE doesn't like Blogger (*cough*Matt*cough*). So I said I would give it a try, as long as it's not too complicated and/or time comsuming. So, here is my latest piece of art, which is still a work in progress.

Today was a very long but truly great day at work. I got there at 6am (ugh), and proceeded to spend the next 2 hours hull scrubbing the stingray lagoon with a coworker. The dive shop amped up the juice on the scrubber, and it felt like the thing was trying to drag me all over the pool. My arms, back and shoulders are killing me, but I will have muscles yet! Following that, I had lunch, which for everyone else would have been at breakfast time. Then I did a snake interaction with Julie, in which we held a 9 1/2 foot Albino Burmese Python (her name is Cleo) and let rugrats pet her. She only weighs about 50 pounds, but that's 50 pounds of wriggling muscle. After that, we cleaned her cage, which took some time, as it's a cage large enough to accommodate 9 1/2 feet of shake. I then proceeded to drive around the park trying to return the hullscrubber to the dive shop, but they had apparently decided to go home early, and locked up. So I drove all the way back to the other side of the park. Now, this isn't usually a big deal, we drive that several times a day, but they are painting the Kraken coaster, so all traffic is periodically stopped while cranes and lifts move back and forth.
Anyway, despite being completely physically exhausted, I feel like I did something useful today. Maybe more useful than selling shrimp to guests, I dunno. :)

Apparently I'm going to have to update this more often, otherwise I will be eternally spammed by the Bobsy Twins (Martin, Matthew...). So, the reason I haven't written is cause there's nothing to write that anyone cares about. Let's see...I had a math final tonight, thank all the gods and goddesses, and with luck I may have even PASSED the class. I also had a review at work today, which was very good, and I got many exceeds expectations, and most importantly, a raise. Yay! More money to swim with the fishes.
I am once again getting over what may be Bubonic Plague, or a particularly pernicious form of influenza. Either way, I am adding Alexander Fleming to my list of heroes this week. :)
Oh and it's nearly Yule (or for those non pagans "Christmas" which is silly since Jesus wasn't even BORN in December...Sorry, ranting). For once I have my shopping finished a full two weeks in advance, and I will not be missing the scary crowds at the malls.
Okay, really, that's it. Nothing exciting. All done. Bye

Apparently the purpose of having a live journal-journal thingy is to post every 6 months or so. Okay, that's just me. It does, however, seem to be a good forum for geekery. I have made myself a potential new gaming friend. I say potential at this point, as we have yet to meet, and we (the gaming group) want to make sure that he is not of the serial killer genus and/or phylum. (okay, bad science nerd humor, sorry). Aside from that, life moves along and I have nothing new to report.

I don't even know how long I've had this thing set up, and have yet to actually write anything. Let's see...other than recovering from what I think is bubonic plague, things have been okay. We've been working hard on the comic, and have 10 pages posted now (shameless plug goes here). You should check it out, and let me know what you think. www.drunkduck.com/Powers_That_Be.
Okay, I guess that's it for now, I have no interesting news to report on.
